AND I just discovered these lovely dishes by Sarah Cihat. "Rehabilitated" dinnerware is made by reglazing and refiring used dishes. See the whole line here and a list of retailers here (this is the top level page of her site but it's not possible to link directly to a page and still retain the main navigation when a site uses frames).
