This drawing was the (Salon) editor's (Sarah Hepola) idea, not mine. My idea began life as something to do with Harold and his purple crayon, but it didn't quite come together. Good for Sarah, sometimes deadlines and simplicity do work together in mysterious ways. I thought this drawing turned out very well.
