Birthday painting
Hannah is a week away from turning 7, and this is the piece of art we bought her this year: "Bay At Large" by Zoe Pawlak, oil, 7x9 inches. She has a few other pieces, but this is the first time we're coupling an art purchase with a birthday. I think she'd rather have a bear :)
(She's getting that anyway.)
Come to think of it, this may not be our first birthday art purchase: We got her a couple of little guys from Meredith Dittmar but I gave them to her as soon as they arrived a couple of months ago (she was sick at the time). And I may have done the same thing last year with a silkscreen by Julia Rothman.
What's fun is that I told the artists who the pieces were meant for, and they all graciously did something personal for Hannah. Zoe wrapped hers in birthday paper! I love the internet :)
