A few things from the weekend

Swan
  • This bird, built on a paper armature, the one that didn't explode in the kiln.
  • A truly hilarious moment from "Rivers and Tides" that I don't remember seeing last time we watched it, but which stayed in my head all weekend long: Andy Goldsworthy trying to fit words around what he was about to do with his wool squiggle, and his very earnest expression as he talked about trying to get to the essence of a sheep.
  • Realizing too late that Hannah should not have been watching the clip from "Taxi To The Dark Side" at the Academy Awards, and stumbling through an explanation of why the man was hanging from the wall.

My friend Bob kept a blog, most of which he took down a few months before he died. This passage is from the entry dated Wednesday, October 17, 2007, "The randomness of it all."
